Blog Post "Staging? What's Staging?"
A RESA study found homes staged prior to listing averaged 35 days on the market.
Unstaged homes that were on the market 181 days, then staged, sold on average in 60 days- a total of 241 days on the market.
This study demonstrates that it does not benefit the homeowner to list their property first to see if it will sell. When they invest in staging before listing, they sell 85% faster.
In addition, the longer a house sits on the market, the lower the selling price. A house that does not appeal, languishing for months on the market will require significant price reductions to entice a buyer. Considering that just one 5% reduction on a $250,000 home is $12,500, a small investment in staging your home to sell before listing is just financial common sense.
